Battery Warning Privacy Policy Effective date: August 1, 2026

Summary: Battery Warning reads your device's battery level and charging status, using Chrome's Battery Status API, only to decide when to show an on-screen warning and play an audio alert. Battery Warning does not read, collect, or transmit webpage content, browsing history, or personal data, and does not send battery information to PurpleTools, ExtensionPay, Stripe, advertisers, or data brokers. ExtensionPay receives limited account and subscription information solely to provide trials, payments, login, and license verification.

1. Scope — This policy describes how the Battery Warning Chrome extension ("Battery Warning," "the extension," "we," "us") accesses, uses, stores, and shares information.

3. How information is used — Only to provide/maintain/secure the warning functionality, verify trial or paid access, process subscriptions, and respond to support requests.

4. Information sharing — We don't sell data. We don't share battery info, webpage content, or browsing activity with ExtensionPay, Stripe, advertisers, or data brokers. Limited account/subscription/payment data goes to ExtensionPay and Stripe only as needed for payment/license services, or as required by law.

5. Advertising and profiling — None. No personalized ads, retargeting, creditworthiness, or unrelated profiling.

6. Data retention — Battery readings are transient and not retained by us. Consent status and cached access info stay in local Chrome storage until changed, cleared, or the extension is removed. ExtensionPay/Stripe retain data per their own policies.

7. Security — Uses Chrome extension APIs and HTTPS with ExtensionPay. No storage/transmission method is 100% secure.

8. Chrome Web Store Limited Use disclosure — Use of information adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements: data is used/transferred only to provide/improve the disclosed single purpose, comply with law, or protect against fraud/abuse.

9. Children's privacy — Not directed to children under 13.

10. Changes — This policy may be updated; the effective date above reflects the latest revision.

One thing to flag: the Chrome Web Store's Privacy practices tab asks for a URL, not pasted text — you'll need to host this privacy-policy.html somewhere public (GitHub Pages, your own site, etc.) and link that URL in the dashboard.
